Palm Oil and Restore Hyaluronic Pure Moisturizing Cream: From Our Mailbag

Question: Hi can you tell me if your Hyaluronic Pure Moisturizing Cream contains palm oil in it, I saw the ingredients but palm oil has many different names and I’m not sure of the other names. I am against the use of palm oil since it’s destroying our rainforest at a very fast rate leaving orangutans and many other animals without homes.

Answer: Thank you for your email. Our Hyaluronic Pure Moisturizing Cream does not contain any palm oil or palm oil derivatives. I’ve attached a link I usually check for the other names for Palm oil, hopefully that will help you in the future!

The problem with Palm Oil is that it’s so popular, especially since the big push in food to get rid of trans fats – a cheap substitute has been palm oil. This increase in demand has led to rainforests being illegally cleared to make way for mass cultivation of the oil palm; although, ethically sourced palm oil does exist, basically thanks to Unilever. It’s very difficult to eliminate all palm oil derivatives in products, but it is something on our radar at Refresh Skin Therapy, since we try to create products that are environmentally friendly and socially responsible as possible.
