No; None of our products contain or are derived from any Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)

All of our products are shelf-stable for 12 months after opening. Our peels do not need to be kept in the fridge, but should be kept away from direct sunlight – especially the Fruit Acid Peel. That’s why it’s in the UV protective blue bottle; the Kojic acid is light sensitive and breaks down and becomes less potent when exposed to sunlight.

A good introduction article from the Journal of Clinical Dermatology is jam-packed with science-y stuff about different peels and their effects on various skin types:

Evidence and Considerations in the Application of Chemical Peels in Skin Disorders and Aesthetic Resurfacing

Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) are set by the FDA and ensure safe production of our products. [re]fresh Skin Therapy’s products are produced in an FDA cGMP facility. For more information on the GMP program, go here.

Not all skin types will experience visible skin peeling off (like after a bad sunburn) but that does not mean the product is not doing its job of deep exfoliation. That’s one reason to choose an at-home peel like ours: minimal redness, visible peeling, and downtime between treatments, while still attaining professional results when used as directed.

USP stands for the United States Pharmacopeia Convention, which sets ingredient standards for cosmetics and supplements. Whenever possible [re]fresh Skin Therapy’s products meet USP standards. For more information, visit them here.
Allow 2-3 days between applications to allow skin to fully heal and repair itself. Peels are all about allowing new skin to take the place of old, damaged skin cells. Skin should appear more radiant after the first application, but more stubborn skin concerns (age spots, deep wrinkles) will start to improve after 2-3 applications. Best results will be seen after 6-8 weeks of continued use, since that’s how long it takes for your skin to fully turn over.
Layering should never be tried on your first peel. Follow the directions on the bottle of 1-3 minutes for the initial application to see how your skin will react. If you think your skin can tolerate a deeper exfoliation, peels can be layered by allowing a first layer to dry slightly (1-3 minutes) then applying another layer on top, and allowing that to sit another 1-3 minutes. ALWAYS rinse with plenty of cool water after in order to neutralize the peel, so it does not continue to work after you’re ready for it to stop. Never leave the peel on your skin too long, as it can leave a burn on your skin.
All of our peels, our cleanser, Brightening Serum, Vitamin C Serum, and Hyaluronic cream are gluten-free and are not made using any wheat or gluten derivatives. Our Peptide+ Intense Eye Recovery Serum has exposure to gluten when the peptides are being purified from grain.
